Derek Hilley

FOUNDING PARTNER

Derek Hilley is one of the founding partners of Hilley &  Solis Law Firm.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas Business  School in Management Information Systems (2001) and St. Mary’s School of  Law (JD 2008).

After graduating from law school, Derek became an associate attorney  for the law office of S. Mark Murray, specializing in commercial and  estate litigation. He later served his community at the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office for 8 years and tried over 65 cases.

Derek is active in San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association.  He has been voted Best San  Antonio Lawyer from 2015 to the present, San Antonio Rising Star in  2016, Top Personal Injury (Plaintiff) Lawyer 2019 to present, and was  listed as #3 attorney on the Top Criminal S.A. Criminal Lawyer in 2019  as nominated by his peers.   

He was a San Antonio Bar Association board member for four years. He served on the Texas Exes board, and was also selected to serve on the  Federal District Court Magistrate Selection Committee for San Antonio.  

He enjoys his practice of helping individuals that have been injured and assisting in rebuilding their lives while standing up to the large insurance companies for his clients.    

In his spare time, Derek enjoys spending time with his children, running, hiking, and traveling.

Carlos Solis

Carlos Solis

FOUNDING PARTNER

Carlos Solis, founding partner of Hilley & Solis Law Firm, moved from Mexico to the United States the age of twelve. A native Spanish speaker, Carlos is adept at communicating with clients for whom English is a second language. As an expert in his field, Carlos is a frequent guest on Univision. 

Carlos Solis holds a B.S. degree from St. Mary’s University and a law degree from the University of Houston. 

Carlos began his legal career in 2007 with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, where he handled thousands of cases, including DWI’s, thefts, drugs, child abuse, and domestic violence. 

After four and a half years of sharpening his trial skills, he moved to Houston to specialize in employment law defending large corporations. 

Mr. Solis uses his unique experiences to represent individuals in criminal and civil courts. As a former prosecutor, and member of a civil litigation firm, Carlos Solis understands the importance of truly listening to the facts of a case and using them in the most favorable way to protect his client’s rights.

Robert G. Rodery

Personal Injury Attorney

Robert G. Rodery is native Memphian and a personal injury attorney with a focus on commercial litigation. 

After serving in the Navy, Robert G. Rodery received his undergraduate degree from Texas State University in 2012 and a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2015.
Robert began practicing personal injury with one of the largest personal injury firms in Texas where he assisted hundreds of client’s resolve their claims for injuries sustained in commercial car wrecks.
