Carlos Solis moved from Mexico to the United States when he was 12 years old, knowing only a handful of English words. After high school, he attended St. Mary's University and graduated with a Bachelor Of Science in 2004. Missing no time, he enrolled at the University of Houston and obtained his law degree in 2007.
Carlos started his legal career in 2007 with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office, where he handled thousands of cases, ranging from DWI's, thefts, drugs, child abuse, and domestic violence. After four and a half years of sharpening his trial skills, he moved to Houston and utilized his experience defending corporate clients in all facets of employment law. He now uses his courtroom and law firm experience to represent individuals in criminal and civil courts.
Carlos personally interviews each and every perspective client, and represents that client through the various court stages in criminal and civil courts. Each client is treated like they want to be treated, with their respective case being the most important issue they are facing.

Derek B. Hilley is a founding partner in the San Antonio firm of Hilley & Solis Law, a graduate of the University of Texas Business School in Management Information Systems (2001), and St. Mary's School of Law (JD 2008).
Mr. Hilley was an associate attorney at the Law offices of S. Mark Murray handling matters of commercial litigation and estate litigation. After a year working as an associate, Mr. Hilley left to gain extensive trial experience from the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Hilley tried 50+ cases to verdict during his time at the District Attorney's office. Starting out in the Criminal Trial division, he was promoted to the felony District Court as a Felony Prosecutor in the Family Justice Unit that handled all the cases involving family violence and sexual abuse. Mr. Hilley was later promoted to the White Collar Division of Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. He and another attorney were specifically chosen to run the Elder Fraud Unit. This unit worked across all courts in courthouse allowing Mr. Hilley to work with all individuals throughout the courthouse. In the Elder Fraud Unit, Mr. Hilley was able to specifically target individuals taking advantage of the Elderly in the community. He prosecuted groups of travelers that would target the elderly, criminal enterprises that engaged in credit/debit card abuse. During this time, Mr. Hilley spoke to many groups and hundreds of people educating them of consumer fraud in our community and how to watch out for consumer fraud.
Active in Bar and professional activities, Mr. Hilley is a member of the Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, Texas Exes and Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association. Mr. Hilley served numerous years on the Board of the Texas Exes San Antonio Chapter. Mr. Hilley was voted as 2015 Best San Antonio Lawyer for Criminal Law.
